Job Summary

Centre Electric & Technology is currently seeking a highly organized and results-driven Project Manager to join our growing Security Division. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to advance their career managing security system projects, including access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, and intercom systems, while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

As the Security Project Manager, you will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution from start to finish. You’ll coordinate with technicians, clients, and subcontractors to ensure timely, on-budget delivery that meets Centre Electric’s high standards for quality, safety, and performance.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead teams effectively. A solid understanding of security systems, low-voltage cabling, and project management best practices are required.


Key Responsibilities

Your role as a Project Manager will involve planning, coordinating, and supervising security system projects in commercial and industrial settings. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and client management are essential. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. Ensure all project milestones and deadlines are met.
  2. Team Coordination & Leadership: Lead and coordinate technicians, subcontractors, and office staff to ensure efficient project execution. Mentor and support team members as needed.
  3. Client Communication & Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for clients. Conduct site meetings, provide project updates, and ensure client satisfaction.
  4. Technical Oversight: Review project designs, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure proper installation of security systems, including access control, intrusion alarms, CCTV, and intercom systems.
  5. Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, including materials, tools, and labor, to maximize project efficiency and minimize delays.
  6. Budget & Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and manage change orders to ensure projects stay within financial targets.
  7. Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets company standards, industry regulations, and client requirements. Perform regular inspections and audits on project sites.
  8. Risk Management & Troubleshooting: Identify potential risks, resolve project issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  9. Worksite Safety & Compliance: Enforce workplace safety policies, including proper use of PPE and adherence to all relevant regulations.
  10. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and client communications.
  11. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  12. On-Call Support & Problem Resolution: Assist with critical service issues as needed and support after-hours project emergencies.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management within the security systems or low-voltage construction industry.
  • Proven track record delivering projects involving access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Procore, or similar).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
  • PMP certification or equivalent training is an asset.

  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Financial literacy for managing budgets, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of applicable building, electrical, and fire codes (CSA, ULC, NFPA, etc.).

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of office and field-based work.
  • Occasional overtime or flexible hours may be required to meet project schedules.
  • Exposure to active construction sites and related safety conditions
